Remember Crystal Brame
I am not religious. Not even spiritual. (And, boy, do I hear a lot of criticism for that. Since I'm Native American, people think say I'm 'supposed to be' spiritual.) If I were either, I would say a prayer for Crystal Brame's soul and another for the lives of her orphaned children.
Ms. Brame was shot in the head by her husband almost two weeks ago. She died Saturday, never awakening from a coma. Her husband, the police chief of Tacoma, Washington, took his own life at the scene. Their two young children observed the murder-suicide.
The entire tragedy could have been averted if people had not helped David Brame cover up his long history of abusive behavior toward women.
The mayor of Tacoma has asked for a day of remembrance on Ms. Brame's behalf. Read more about that and the investigation of the officials who allowed this situation to occur at Silver Rights.
